Speaker Biography: Sharon Draper is a professional educator as well as an accomplished writer of stories that teenagers love to read. She has been honored as the National Teacher of the Year and is a popular conference speaker, addressing educational and literary groups both nationally and internationally. She is the recipient of the Coretta Scott King Award for "Forged by Fire" (1998) and "November Blues" (2007) and a Coretta Scott King Honor Award winner for "The Battle of Jericho" (2004) and "Copper Sun" (Simon & Schuster, 2006. 2008 paperback). She lives in Cincinnati, Ohio.
