Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr., issued the following statement today in response to recent comments by Will County Executive Joe Mikan.
"We have a plan, developers, the financing, and are creating an open authority for all south suburban communities who want to build an airport.
"And soon it is our desire to be in a position to offer a proposal to the State. If there is a competing authority that has a plan, developers, and financing, now is the time to put up or shut up.
"Will County officials have rejected meetings and discussions with our developers. Will County should show a plan for developing an airport on land that is owned by the State of Illinois, or it should get out of the way," Jackson said. |
