ODP Information Bulletin No. 47 November 23, 2001 TO: All State Administrative Agency Heads All State Administrative Agency Points of Contact FROM: C.H. "Butch" Straub, II Director SUBJECT: Activation of Additional Enhancements to the On-Line Data Collection Tool The Office for Domestic Preparedness (ODP) is pleased to announce several enhancements to the On-Line Data Collection Tool. These enhancements are intended to assist states in the completion of the capabilities and needs assessments and with the development of their three-year domestic preparedness strategies. The changes include: In the First Responder Jurisdiction Handbook, Sections 3.1 and 3.2, which address current and required capabilities, have been revamped slightly to improve the transmission speed of the requested data. This change does not affect the content of these sections. In the State Administrative Agency (SAA) Handbook, Section 10.2, which allows states to upload their strategy documents, has been revamped to include locations for states to upload additional supporting documentation. Up to three additional documents may now be submitted along with the state strategy. In the State Administrative Agency Handbook, additional reports have been added to the Viewer Edition of the Data Analysis Tool (DAT). The Viewer Edition of the DAT allows SAAs to run a standard set of comparative queries on their state's data. The additional reports will provide states with the ability to automatically calculate the percent of required equipment, training, exercises and technical assistance currently on hand. For technical assistance with all existing elements of the On-Line Data Collection Tool, you may contact the OJP toll-free help line at 1-888-549-9901.
