Washington, D.C. - {onight Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02), in support of President Bush, stressed the need to use the right resources at the right time to combat terrorism.

Said Larsen, “On September 11, terrorists tried to destroy our American spirit.  Tonight, our American spirit soars higher than ever.  Never underestimate the resolve of the American people; it is stronger than any cowardly terrorist act.”

“Our strength doesn’t lie within our tallest buildings or even the centerpiece of our defense, but within the will of our people to fight for our freedom.”

“I support the President in his mission to combat terrorism.  We must use the right military resources at the right time with the right approach.  The President has thus far shown patience and strength.”

“In our fight against terrorism, we will also fight intolerance.  We need to be sure that all Americans, regardless of race or religion, feel safe.  We will pursue the fight against intolerance as fiercely as we pursue the fight against terrorism.”
