1. Tell us about your business
My web-based business is in the developmental phase. The business is going to connect entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs to each other. In a time when the economy is not at its peak and extremely talented labor is being laid off, I want to connect that labor to startup businesses that are looking to outsource work. I am chronicling the development of my business on my blog www.morecaffeineplease.com.
2. Why did you join Entrepreneur Connect?
I am looking to connect with startups, entrepreneurs and small businesses. I feel I have a lot to share and a lot to learn -- both ingredients are extremely important in making great connections. If I am successfully able to connect to like-minded people, then I can teach others to do the same. I want to dispel the myth that it takes a huge marketing budget to get customers to your website. I feel Entrepreneur Connect is a great way to teach people how to do that, and also learn from those better than me.
3. What is one piece of advice for the aspiring entrepreneur?
Be valuable to your customer base. The easiest and cheapest way to get qualified leads without spamming/annoying people is to publish and share your ideas regarding your industry. I've said it a million times: One of the best ways I got customers for my first business (a solar panel installation company) was to speak about the "Top Ten Ways to Reduce your Energy Bill." It was not a sales pitch of any sort, but simply an information sharing speech.
