Cultural Diversity Day-Employees Only
Cultural Diversity Day will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA. The theme is “Agri-Cultural Communication”. The focus of the event is to promote awareness of the different communication methods and cultural differences within agricultural settings. The morning session will include Kim Bradford, NRCS Sociologist; Gary Talley, VA Department of Deaf and Hard of Hearing; and Sylvia Whitney, Spanish Specialist for Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Special invited guests include Jack Bricker, VA NRCS State Conservationist and Loren Swartzendruber, EMU President. The afternoon sessions will feature a forum on race relations by the EMU Center for Justice and Peacebuilding, as well as, a walking tour of the Valley Brethren Mennonite Heritage Center.

Coffee and drinks for lunch will be provided. Carpooling is encouraged. Eastern Mennonite University is a tobacco and alcohol free campus.
