Reconstruction of Seashore Roads in Progress

The 3-mile eastern section of the DJ. Earl Bowden Way (State Road 399) on Santa Rosa Island to Opal Beach is currently closed because of road work from the west end to Opal Beach that began in October 2008. The road contractor  scheduled sand removal from parking lot #1 in January 2009.

Reconstruction of the Fort Pickens Road on Santa Rosa Island started and is scheduled to reopen to the public in 2009. This work all depends on weather and island conditions.
