The draft Environmental Impact Report for the Lodi Community Improvement Project is available to the public for review and comment.

The Lodi Community Improvement Project is the name of the proposed redevelopment project that, if adopted, would be the first in the city's history. Most of Lodi east of downtown is included in the proposed project area. As property values rise over time, a greater share of property tax would be remain in Lodi to reinvest in the area. Redevelopment does not raise taxes and in Lodi does not include eminent domain.

State law requires redevelopment agencies to prepare full environmental reports before projects can be adopted, even if the project does not propose any specific development. The Lodi Community Improvement Project environmental study used the City's existing general plan for future development assumptions.
