Linking Research to Practice
- The Research to Practice (R2P) effort is focused on discovering and presenting to the child welfare community, relevant information regarding programs and/or practices involved in any of the levels of research rigor. We work to accomplish this in a spirit of collaboration with others so that we can support individuals and agencies providing services to children and families by:
- Conducting regular reviews of research literature in key practice and policy areas and maintaining relationships with child welfare researchers;
- Reaching out to public and private child welfare practitioners to assist as they begin to plan for evaluation of their emerging promising practices [toolkit series];
- Supporting and promoting the implementation of well-evaluated programs or practices that will positively affect people, organizations and systems, with an eye toward potential for sustainability and replication in other jurisdictions;
- Encouraging the use of program/practice evaluation and outcome measurement;
- Collaborating with researchers, agencies, associations and foundations focused on child welfare practice and policy, to promote engagement in the various levels of research rigor.
