Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual and designate one individual to serve in his Administration:

The President intends to nominate William Robert Timken, Jr., of Ohio, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Federal Republic of Germany. Mr. Timken currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Timken Company. He has served as Chairman since 1975 and retired as a company executive at the end of 2003. Mr. Timken began his career with the company in 1962. He received his bachelor's degree from Stanford University and his master's degree from Harvard University.

The President intends to designate Paul M. Golan, of Virginia, to be Acting Director of the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management.
