Statement by the Press Secretary
Japanese Prime Minister to Visit Washington

President Bush will welcome Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to Washington for a working visit on June 30. The U.S.-Japan alliance is the cornerstone of peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, and the President looks forward to discussing ways in which we can intensify our close cooperation with Japan on bilateral, regional and global issues. The President looks forward to hosting the Prime Minister at Camp David.
