Nominations and Appointments
President Bush to Nominate One and Appoint Six to Serve in His Administration, One to Serve as a Member of the Federal Judiciary

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual and appoint six individuals to serve in his administration, and his nomination to serve as a member of the federal judiciary.

The President intends to nominate John M. Reich to be Vice Chairperson of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Reich has served as a Director of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation since his confirmation in January of 2001.

The President intends to appoint the following six individuals to serve as members of the Board for International Food and Agriculture Development:

For the remainder of a four-year term expiring July 28, 2005 --
Michael Deegan of Virginia
Stuart Iverson, Jr., of Iowa
Anthony Laos of Texas

For the remainder of a four-year term expiring July 28, 2004 --
William DeLauder of Delaware
Carol Lewis of Alaska
Sharron Quisenberry of Montana

The President has nominated Alia M. Ludlum to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Texas.
