President Bush to Welcome President Alvaro Uribe of Colombia

President Bush will welcome President Alvaro Uribe of Colombia to the White House on June 14, 2006. Colombia is an important strategic partner, and this visit underscores the friendship and cooperation between the United States and Colombia. The President and President Uribe will discuss a range of issues including their shared commitment to advancing opportunity, security, and respect for human rights in Colombia; the importance of free trade to sustained economic growth; and continuing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
