Statement by the Press Secretary
Visit to Washington by Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf

The President welcomes the Official Working Visit to Washington of the President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf, on February 13, 2002. Pakistan is a steadfast partner with the United States and provides excellent cooperation in Operation Enduring Freedom. The United States-Pakistan partnership plays a key role in the international coalition against terrorism. President Bush looks forward to discussing Operation Enduring Freedom, regional security matters, economic and educational cooperation, human rights, democracy and the upcoming Pakistani national elections, and means to further strengthen the strong bilateral relationship between the United States and Pakistan.
