In addition to cutting the cleanup workforce, the Bush budget proposal eliminates all funding for the HAMMER training facility, which prepares workers to handle toxic nuclear waste. Last year, the Bush administration proposed a $400 million cut to Hanford cleanup. Murray worked with her colleagues to restore the funding. (04/18/02)
