Murray Announces Over $3.6 Million for Migrant Head Start Program in Yakima

(Washington, DC) -- As a member of the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-Wash.) today announced $3,614,368 for the Yakima Head Start migrant program.

"I am proud to be a part of such a positive steps forward for young children," said Murray. "I am pleased that, with the help of this funding, Yakima's Head Start program will reach the children who will benefit the most."

Administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, this Head Start Migrant Grant will enable the Enterprise for Progress in the Community to aid in children gaining the skills they will need to compete in the future workforce, increase literacy rates, and help move families out of poverty and improved their health.
