Where to Go for Help

Browser Support

The recommended encryption level for securely and safely transmitting personal data is 128bit encryption. Many popular browsers offer 128-bit SSL versions. We recommend that you use either Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer or AOL. It is important to understand that these browsers come in both 40-bit (older versions) and 128-bit versions (more recent versions), so be sure your version offers the higher level.

Note: If you have enabled a pop-up blocker or are using software that automatically disables pop-up browser windows, you should disable this feature for most effective use of the PSAonline application.

Some users of older internet browser versions have experienced difficulties in completing and submitting their PSAonline forms. We will work diligently to assist any users who experience such problems, however, we also recommend using the latest versions of Internet Explorer (version 6.0 SP1 or greater), AOL (2.1), or Netscape (8.1) whenever possible.

How to Get Help

The type of problem you're having will determine where you should go for help.

  • If you are having problems with a password or user id (for example, you forgot your password, need your password reset, are receiving a message that your password or user id is invalid, etc.) OR you are able to log into the PSAonline system but have questions about how to use it, please call 319-341-2PSP (319-341-2777). This is the number for the Presidential Scholars Program's technical assistance center, which is staffed from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 pm, Central Time. If you have a question outside of those hours, you will need to leave a message at that number, and your call will be returned promptly on the next business day.

  • If you cannot access ed.gov or the PSAonline log-in page, or you receive any of the following pop-up error messages: 1) "Page not found," 2) "Time out response," or 3) "Page error -- See Admin," you need to submit an email or fax describing the problem to ed.gov's Technical Support staff using one of the following options:
