Congressman Faleomavaega announced today that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recently launched a new website, www.grants.gov, containing up to 900 grant programs from all of the 26 federal grant-making agencies. For those interested in Federal grants, the new website offers a centralized source to locate and apply for a large number of important funding opportunities.
“The new online access to grants is part of the Federal cross-agency initiative that focuses on improving access to government services via the internet. Grants.gov streamlines the process of awarding the over $360 billion available annually from the federal government,” Congressman Faleomavaega explained.
Grants.gov site will increase awareness of federal grant programs, reduce time spent searching for and preparing grant applications, and simplify the application process. Grants can be submitted online, thereby reducing paperwork and postage costs. Alternatively, information and applications can also be downloaded and completed offline, if preferred.
“I’d like to express my appreciation to the Department of Health and Human for creating this cross-agency partnership to make grant opportunities more accessible to State, local and tribal governments, colleges, and universities, non-profits and other organizations. I am confident that American Samoa will take advantage of this new system and benefit even more than in the past as a result of this innovative initiative,” the Congressman concluded. |
