Congressional Internships
I want to thank you for your interest in pursuing an internship with
my office.

I am restricted by congressional rules from paying interns. However,
I can offer the opportunity to obtain college credit (please inquire with
your academic advisor to determine if you are eligible to participate in
an intern-for-credit program). Plus, the knowledge you will receive
from interning in my office can be a great learning experience and will
prove to be quite helpful in your future academic and career opportunities.
My internship program is very flexible and, if you are selected, my
staff and I will do our best to work around your schedule. Once I
receive your application, detailed materials on the internship and expectations
will be promptly sent to you. An interview will also be conducted.

District Internship Information
If you are interested in interning in my Janesville District office, some of your duties may include:

Assisting with the research and writing of constituent correspondence
-
Assisting with our mobile office tours and listening sessions
-
Cataloging newspaper articles, including article clipping and organizing
and scanning into the computer distribution system.

Research on issues or agency policies
-
Data assembly and entry into QUORUM Government data system
-
Grant research
-
Acting as a back-up for answering phone calls
-
Distribution of mail and informational materials from agencies
-
Assisting with mailing projects
-
Possible casework * (with proper training)
-
Greeting guests & constituents of our office
-
Assisting with the Congressman’s Advisory Boards
-
Travel with our Mobile Constituent Services Center
-
Other projects as assigned

statement (no more than 150 words please) explaining why you are interested in
interning with my office. The deadlines*

Washington, DC, Internship Information
If you are interested in interning in my DC office, some of your duties
may include:

Data assembly and entry into QUORUM Government data system

Acting as a back-up for answering phone calls

Distribution of mail and informational materials

Assisting with mailing projects

Greeting guests & constituents of our office

Conducting tours in the Capitol building for constituents

Attend various speakers and classes about the political process

Monitor floor action

Other projects as assigned
