Worldwide curiosity about the Nuremberg Trials was satisfied in
part by courtroom photographs and drawings. George Biddle, brother
of an American judge on the International Military Tribunal, made
these two sketches as an artist for Look magazine. On the
left is Hans Fritzsche, a mid-level official who directed radio
propaganda, he was acquitted on all counts but later convicted
by a German court. On the right is Reichsmarschall Hermann Göering,
who had commanded the German air forces. After his conviction he
committed suicide. The photograph shows the prisoners in the dock.
Front row: Göering, Rudolf Hess, Joachim von Ribbentrop, Wilhelm
