Kathy Reichs, like her fictional creation, Temperance Brennan, is a forensic anthropologist for the state of North Carolina and the province of Quebec. Each new story in the Temperance Brennan series plays on an aspect of forensic anthropology and matter classification that Dr. Reichs has personally used in her work. Déjà Dead brought her fame when it became a New York Times best-seller and won the 1997 Ellis Award for Best First Novel. She has written eight more novels -- all national and international best-sellers. Her latest book is Break No Bones (Scribner, 2006), and her writing is the basis for a series "Bones" from 20th Century Fox Television that features a forensic anthropologist. She divides her time between Charlotte, North Carolina, and Montreal, Canada.
