(Washington D.C.)- U.S. Rep. Sander Levin (D-Royal Oak) offered the following comments today regarding the death of President Gerald R. Ford:

"We in Michigan were always proud of President Ford, especially during his service in Congress and his conduct as President.

"On the occasions I was privileged to meet and speak with him, he always embodied a civility in public life that went out of style and I hope will return.

"Its return would serve as a fitting memorial to his life and his career."
