LEVIN ANNOUNCES U.S. ACADEMY APPOINTMENTS FROM 12TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
 

(Washington D.C.)- U.S. Rep. Sander Levin (D-Royal Oak) today announced that three of the students that he nominated to United States Service Academies from the 12th Congressional District were offered Appointments.  All three students accepted their offers by the May 1st deadline and will be entering their respective Academy in July.  Each student received a nomination from Congressman Levin after they completed the application process and interviewed with a local nomination selection committee.

"I was pleased to nominate these terrific young people in their quest to serve our country," said U.S. Rep. Levin. "Their hard work and dedication has paid off as they prepare to enter our country's fine U.S. Service Academies." 

The following students from the 12th Congressional District were offered Appointments to one of the U.S. Service Academies:

  • Bryana Tucci, of Clinton Township currently attends Cairo American College in Egypt. She was offered appointments to both the Naval Academy and West Point, and has chosen to attend the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
  • Matthew Burchill, of St. Clair Shores attends Lake Shore High School.  Matthew will also be attending the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
  • David Scheys, of St. Clair Shores attends De La Salle High School.  David will be attending West Point in New York.

Those students that would like more information about the application process, or wish to seek a nomination from Rep. Levin, should contact the Congressman's District Office at (586) 498-7122 or (248) 968-2025.  Students can begin obtaining applications now and throughout the fall by calling and expressing their interest.  Applications will be due at a designated date in November, and students will interview with the Congressman's nomination selection committee in mid-December.
