Warning: if youre on a first date or newly engaged or in any relationship at all: run the other way DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES- see Bride Wars. Youll never want to get married after seeing this movie.

Bride Wars is a complete failure as a satire on the wedding industry. In case you havent seen the trailer, Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway co-star as lifelong friends who seemingly have one goal in life: to get married at the Plaza Hotel in June. They end up with Plaza weddings on the same day. The usually adorable Kate Hudson is like fingernails on a blackboard. Brilliant as Anne Hathaway was in Rachel Getting Married (which could win her an Oscar); I cant imagine why she agreed to star in this mess. Nothing in this movie is believable. A public school teacher who can afford a wedding at the Plaza?! If she lived 3 lifetimes, she still couldnt pay for this wedding. Everything in Bride Wars is forgettable save for designer Vera Wang and Macbooks. Yep- they sure did a great job on product placement in Bride Wars.

The men in this film are completely superfluousbecause the women are so wedding-obsessed they could have married gay men and not have noticed. In fact- when Kate and Anne were rolling in the wedding aisle, duking it out, I thought theyd end up with a big make-out scene, and wind up marrying each other! Then theyd live happily-ever-after, renewing their vows each year at the Plaza.
