Legislation and Guidance Updates

FEMP released new guidelines for meeting Section 432 of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA 2007) titled Facility Energy Management Guidelines and Criteria for Energy and Water Evaluations in Covered Facilities (PDF 294 KB). The resource provides guidance to Federal agencies for defining facilities covered by the provision, designating facility energy managers to ensure compliance, and conducting comprehensive energy and water evaluations. Other recent guidance documents supporting the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPAct 2005) and Executive Order 13423 include the 2007 FEMP Renewable Energy Requirement Guidance for EPAct 2005 and Executive Order 13423: Final (PDF 238 KB), and Establishing Baseline and Meeting Water Conservation Goals of Executive Order 13243: Final (PDF 211 KB).
