Ambient Monitoring
LANL performs environmental air monitoring for compliance with federal regulations, to meet DOE Order requirements, and to provide health information concerning non-LANL sources of air pollution.

Source Emissions
In order to determine impacts on the public and the environment, LANL evaluates laboratory operations which vent radioactive material emissions to the environment through a stack, as well as operations that emit criteria pollutants, volatile organic compounds, and hazardous air pollutants.

The Laboratory manages regulatory compliance for air quality by working with regulators and internal customers.
