A bypass project is underway as of late 2002. (See "The Hoover Dam Bypass" in the July/August 1999 issue of Public Roads.)

As of late 2002, officials in New York, Ontario , Buffalo, Niagara and other cities were continuing to develop a replacement structure for this bridge. However, until this is implemented, improved efficiency of the existing bridge is vital. Image from 1999.
