Chicago, IL ---- Congressman Bobby L. Rush (D-IL.) and the First Congressional District Housing Task Force will conduct, "Ten Weeks To Homeownership" Conference on Saturday, April 19, 2003, from 10:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M., at the Bronzeville Military Academy, 3519 South Giles (King Drive & 35th Street), Chicago.
The Conference targets those persons who are currently paying rents comparable to mortgages. Those that qualify will be moved into the 10-week homeownership course.
"Today's mortgage rates are at their lowest in over 40 years," said Congressman Bobby L. Rush. "As a result, today's mortgage payments can be less than what many southside residents currently pay in rent," Rush stated. "A $90,000 home is approximately $522.00 a month. This is solid financial planning."
ROE CDC is the local organization responsible for coordinating the Conference.
