Washington, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Tim Johnson is sponsoring two Medicare outreach events in the District on Friday, Oct. 14.
Both events will feature speakers from the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to help explain and answer questions about the new Medicare Prescription Drug Plan that goes into effect Jan. 1.
Senior citizens are encouraged to attend. The events are free and no reservations are required.
“Many of our seniors have questions about how these changes are going to impact them and seminars such as these are intended to help get the answers,” Rep. Johnson said.
The first event is at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at the Round Barn Banquet Center, 1900 Round Barn Road, Champaign.
The second event is at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at the Lawrenceville Senior Citizens Center, 1705 12th St., Lawrenceville.
