Cataloging Team

The Cataloging Team is responsible for cataloging and classifying, in accordance with approved Library of Congress procedures and standards and in cooperation with the Cataloging Directorate, maps, atlases, globes, relief models, digital geospatial data, and other cartographic formats within the Division's custody, preparing and maintaining, in cooperation with the Cataloging Policy and Support Office, a procedural manual for cartographic material cataloging, and for expanding and revising the Llibrary of Congress Classification Schedule: Class G, as it pertains to cartographic material; maintaining the Library's official shelflist for G1000 through G9980; and developing and maintaining the MARC Maps Database.
