Backstage at Lincoln Bicentennial Event

Congressman Jackson greets Malik Neal. Neal, a senior at Philadelphia’s West Catholic High School, gave a moving oration to open the first of a series of Town Halls hosted by the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission. Congressman Jackson is a member of the Commission. He and former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Jack Kemp are co-conveners of the series of Town Halls that will be held through 2009. The Gettysburg event, held the day after the 145th commemoration of the Gettysburg Address, was put together by the Pennsylvania Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, the Civil War Institute at Gettysburg College, Gettysburg College and other organizations.
