Congressman Neil Abercrombie will be a guest on the popular PBS-Hawaii television show, "Leahey & Leahey." The half-hour episode that features the Congressman premiered on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 7:30 P.M. and will be rebroadcast on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 4:30 P.M.
Topics include Hawaii's visibility in the upcoming Inaugural events for President-elect Barack Obama, the impact of Obama's election on Hawaii's future, and Obama's possible choices for Secretary of Defense. Abercrombie is chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Air and Land Forces which has jurisdiction over the Army and Air Force. He also is a member of the Seapower Subcommittee which oversees the Navy and Marines.
