New Booklover's Guide To Be Discussed at the Library of Congress on July 21

Patricia Jean Wagner, author of The Bloomsbury Review Booklover's Guide: A Collection of Tips, Techniques, Anecdotes, Controversies & Suggestions for the Home Library (1996), will discuss her book at the Library of Congress on Monday, July 21, at 6 p.m. The presentation, part of the Center for the Book's "Books & Beyond" series, will take place in the Mumford Room on the sixth floor of the Library's James Madison Building, 101 Independence Ave. SE. Cosponsored with the Washington Chapter of the Women's National Book Association, it is free and open to the public.

An illustrated, 312-page volume, The Bloomsbury Review Booklover's Guide is a comprehensive and humorous almanac. It is filled with practical advice; information about books, book lovers, and book organizations; history; and speculations about the history and the future of books and reading.

Poet, author, and journalist Pat Wagner has loved books throughout her career as a printer, publisher, bookstore clerk, library clerk, small-press advocate, bookstore co- founder, book designer, book arts show organizer, and "typography junkie." For the past 15 years she has been a book reviewer for The Bloomsbury Review: A Book Magazine, which is published in Denver. Recently she became a contributing editor.

The Center for the Book in the Library of Congress was established in 1977 to stimulate public interest in books, reading, and libraries.
