Italian-American Holiday Food Demonstration

The American Folklife Center will present a demonstration of Italian-American holiday foods on Wednesday, December 15, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Mumford Room, sixth floor, Madison Building. The demonstration is free and open to the public.

Lorenzo and Eleonora Lazzaro, owner-operators of the Mamma Lucia Italian Delicatessen in Wheaton, Md., will demonstrate the preparation of such traditional Italian Christmas sweet treats as cenci, crostali, pizzelle, and brigidini. Italian Christmas traditions will be discussed and samples served.
