ACTION: Notice of public meeting. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY: The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council's (Council) Marine Reserves Advisory Panel (AP) and Marine Reserves Committee (Committee), will hold a public meeting. DATES: The meeting will be held on Monday, May 3, 1999, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.; Tuesday, May 4, 1999, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., and Wednesday, May 5, 1999, from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The purpose of the meeting is to review the Council's objectives and approach regarding possible utilization of reserves in the south Atlantic region, as well as hear presentations on Gray's Reef and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary/Tortugas 2000. The AP and Committee will discuss the role of the AP, as well as the Council's paper on ``Use of Marine Reserves in the South Atlantic Council's Area of Authority'', including the goal, criteria, law enforcement, outreach, and development approach for marine reserves. The AP and Committee also will make recommendations to the Council regarding these issues. Although other issues not contained in this agenda may come before the AP and Committee for discussion, in [[Page 19340]] accordance with the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, those issues may not be the subject of formal action during this meeting.
