You can leave a message anytime regarding your lost item. Please be prepared to say:
- Your name, phone number and email address (or fax number)
- Date and location the item was lost or last seen
- Description of the item. If it is a cell phone, contact your service provider to obtain your phone's "ESN number"
To acquire item(s) from the Dulles Central Lost and Found office, you will need a PROPERTY TAG REFERENCE NUMBER which you can obtain from the Lost and Found Office. You can then:

PICK UP YOUR ITEM(S) IN PERSON; YOU WILL NEED A PHOTO ID. PLEASE CALL FIRST FOR AN APPOINTMENT SO THAT WE CAN HAVE YOUR ITEM READY FOR PICK-UP TO REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF WAIT TIME.

HAVE A DESIGNATED PERSON PICK UP YOUR ITEM(S). WE WILL NEED A PROPERTY RELEASE FORM (Download here) FILLED OUT BY YOU INDICATING THEY HAVE YOUR PERMISSION TO PICK UP YOUR ITEM(S) AND A COPY OF YOUR PHOTO ID. YOUR DESIGNEE WILL NEED TO PROVIDE A PHOTO ID WHEN PICKING UP THE ITEM(S).

ARRANGE FOR SHIPPING OF YOUR ITEM(S) BY CALLING THE SHIPPING COMPANY OF YOUR CHOICE OR BY CALLING THE CENTRAL LOST AND FOUND OFFICE AND THEY WILL MAKE THE ARRANGEMENTS FOR YOU. WE WILL NEED A PROPERTY RELEASE FORM FILLED OUT (Download here) BY YOU INDICATING WHICH COURIER SERVICE AND A COPY OF A PHOTO ID. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE AIRPORT DOES NOT PAY FOR SHIPPING OF ITEMS.
