Constituent Services
Questions
or Concerns
Concerns regarding specific problems with the federal
government (i.e. difficulty receiving Social
Security, problems with Medicare/Medicaid, etc.)
should be directed toward the District Office. Legislative
questions/concerns should be directed to the Washington
Office. To expedite the casework process,
I have included the Privacy
Act of 1974 form which needs to be filled
out prior to my office rendering assistance.
Service Academy Nominations
Young men and women of the Second Congressional District
who are seeking a nomination to one of the four service
academies should contact Edna Parker in the
Tallahassee district office to obtain more information.
Applicants must be, as of July 1 of the year of admission
to an academy, at least 17 years old, but not have passed
the 23rd birthday, a U.S. citizen, and be unmarried
with no legal obligations to support children or other
dependents. I have also included my initial Academy
Nomination Packet which can be downloaded and
mailed to my Tallahassee Office. Click
here for more information on Academy Nominations.
White House and Capitol Tours
Tours of the U.S. Capitol and the White House
can be arranged by calling my Washington office
at (202) 225-5235. Please contact our office
six weeks in advance of your desired date for
a tour of the Capitol. For White House tours,
we strongly encourage you to contact our office six
months in advance of your desired date. We
will try to accommodate all requests, but due
to the high demand for White House tours, the
White House is not able to fill all requests.
Flags
American flags can be flown over the United States Capitol at
my request. These flags are available at a low cost
to interested constituents. Flags are available in your
choice of nylon or cotton and in three different sizes
(3'x5', 4'x6', and 5'x8'). Flags can be flown for a
special occasion or in memory of a loved one. An official
certificate stating this remembrance will accompany
the flag when it is mailed to you.
You
may download a Flag Order Form
to mail in your order, or please feel free to call
Charity Williams, in my Washington office at (202)-225-5235 for
flag sizes, prices, and further information.
Internships
Unpaid internships are available to interested college
students in both my district and Washington offices.
Internships will vary in length according to the time
of year, desires of the applicant, and needs of the
office. I fully support students receiving academic
credit for internships and encourage students to apply
for such credit. Applicants should submit a resumé
and cover letter to the appropriate office (Washington
or Tallahassee) along with an application form
which can be downloaded from this webpage. Summer is
a popular time for internships, therefore it is advantageous
to apply as early as possible.
