111th Sworn In Today : Clyburn Delivers Reflection at Interfaith Prayer Service

WASHINGTON, DC—As part of the events surrounding the swearing-in of the 111th Congress, House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn this morning delivered the reflection at the 111th Congress Bipartisan Interfaith Prayer Service at Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church. Later this afternoon, Clyburn and the other members of the 111th Congress were sworn in on the floor of the House of Representatives. Clyburn was reelected House Majority Whip for the 111th Congress, the third-ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives. This will be his second term as House Majority Whip. Clyburn Calls on Bush Administration to Aid Autos, Protect Taxpayers

WASHINGTON, DC—“The bridge loans provided under this package come with significant taxpayer protections and accountability to the American people. The auto industry has a choice—restructure and modernize or fail. The auto industry's success will require everyone to participate in the process—executives, employees, unions, dealers, suppliers, creditors and shareholders must all make sacrifices and reform to save the industry.”
