This is a collection of papers written by Union soldiers at four
prisons in the South. They were edited by the Burnham Publishing
Company of Boston and published as one volume in 1862. A microfilm

An edition of Stars and Stripes was published irregularly
in 1863 by Union forces deployed in Thibodaux, Louisiana. This series
is unique because it was printed on wallpaper. A facsimile copy
of the March 11, 1863 edition is available in the Newspaper
and Current Periodical Reading Room.

In 1863, the 3rd Missouri Cavalry Regiment published their weekly
regimental newspaper in Jacksonport, Arkansas. A printed copy of
the December 1, 1863 issue is available in the Newspaper and Current
