Welcome to the U. S. Army Garrison, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas

**NOTICE:  ALL walkers, runners and bikers must wear reflective clothing on Fort Leavenworth **

Welcome to the Combined Arms Center and Fort Leavenworth, the "Intellectual Center of the Army."  Fort Leavenworth is a great place to live, work, grow personally and professionally, and raise a family.

The lush, rolling terrain of northeast Kansas provides for a serene, peaceful setting.  Whether you wear a uniform or not, you'll find Fort Leavenworth to be one of the Army's best kept secrets.  We believe we have the Best Hometown in the Army.  We enjoy the benefits of a small town, a thriving Army post and academic center, and a major metropolitan area.

In addition to being the "Intellectual Center of the Army," Fort Leavenworth offers numerous civilian educational opportunities.  Four on-post colleges offer undergraduate and graduate degrees.  Additionally, there are many other quality universities in the area offering degrees through the doctoral level.

We enjoy a rich history.  Our installation dates to 1827 and is the oldest continuously active Army post west of the Mississippi River.  The post evolved from an isolated frontier fort safeguarding westward expansion.  Since the inception of the Command and General Staff College in 1883, Fort Leavenworth enjoys a continuing legacy of educational excellence and preparing Army leaders to safeguard America's interests at home and abroad.

The Fort Leavenworth Garrison, part of Installation Management Command - West Region, is committed to serving the Army Family - Soldiers, civilian employees, and their Families.

We look forward to serving you.
