Vanessa Weaver will meet with exporters, local elected officials and Chamber of Commerce representatives in Miami, FL, Wednesday, November 14, 2001, to discuss how Ex-Im Bank’s financing programs can help South Florida businesses large and small export their goods and services, and compete in emerging foreign markets. Weaver will visit the headquarters of TractoAmerica, one of the largest wholesalers of Legitimate Replacement PartsĀ® in the United States for Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, Case and many other major brands. TractoAmerica has used Ex-Im Bank export credit insurance to sell new and used construction equipment, engines, gensets, chain saws and related spare parts to Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. Wednesday, November 14, 2001 "Ex-Im Bank wants to do more to help South Florida companies export," said Weaver. "The region already is a strong exporter of computers, office machine and computer parts, and telecommunication equipment and components. But there is even greater potential for these and other industries to export to many emerging markets around the world. Ex-Im Bank can provide the financing products to make this happen." During the last five years, Ex-Im (www.exim.gov) has financed more than $2.8 billion in export transactions for 558 companies in 84 communities throughout Florida. Ex-Im Bank is an independent U.S. government agency that assists in financing the export of U.S. goods and services to markets around the world, through export credit insurance, loan guarantees, and direct loans.
