Public Hearing on Agency Procedures

At its January 14-15, 2009, public hearing on agency procedures the Commission extended the deadline for public comments to February 18. The extension offers commenters the benefit of the written comments already received, and an opportunity to review the hearing transcript. The Commission is especially interested in suggestions for improving its processes for reviewing reports filed by committees and other persons, conducting audits, handling complaints and resolving apparent violations of the law through the FEC’s Administrative Fine and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) programs. The Commission also welcomes comments on its other policies, practices and procedures, such as its issuance of policy statements and advisory opinions and the services provided through its education and information programs. All persons are encouraged to submit written comments to help aid the Commission in reviewing and improving its procedures.
