Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force (CSFTF) Arrests Famous
New Orleans Restaurateur Murder Suspect

On September 25, 2008, the Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Bryant Boudin at 3204 Potomac Street, New Orleans, LA. Boudin was booked for the murder of Betsy McDaniel, owner of the popular Betsy’s Pancake House in Mid-City. He was charged with second degree murder and aggravated battery. Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives allege that Boudin, 27, brutally beat McDaniel, 72, in her Marrero home on Memorial Day of this year. She died a few days later from her injuries at West Jefferson Medical Center. Her death prompted an outpouring of sympathy and donations from the public to find the killer.

Early in the investigation, Jefferson Parish authorities requested support from the U. S. Marshals sponsored Crescent Star Fugitive task force for assistance. Hundreds of man hours were spent working the case since that time. Boudoin was booked with first-degree murder and was taken to Central Lockup at the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office.
