California Double Murder Suspect Arrested in
New Orleans by U.S. Marshals Task Force |
|
On the morning of April 8, 2008, members of the
U.S. Marshals Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force (CSFTF) arrested Terrance
Brewer at the home of an acquaintance in the 2600 block of Willow Street. He
was wanted in connection with a double homicide that occurred on March 16,
2008, in Concordia, California. Brewer, 19, was booked into the Orleans
Parish Prison and is waiting extradition to California.
Concordia Police Department officials allege that Brewer shot and killed two
individuals during a drug deal gone bad. They developed information that
Brewer had left California and came to New Orleans to flee prosecution. They
requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Task Force here in New Orleans
in locating the fugitive. Investigative leads developed by local
investigators led to the location and eventual arrest of Brewer. This is the
third homicide suspect arrested by U.S. Marshals this week that the Crescent
Star Fugitive Task Force had direct involvement in. Edward Augustine was
arrested in Denver, Colorado, Eldrin George was arrested in Duluth, Georgia
(both on New Orleans Police Department warrants), and Brewer was arrested
today.
U.S. Marshal Michael Credo stated, “These recent cases highlight how well
the task force concept works; federal and local agencies working together
and on a national level to bring dangerous criminals to justice.”
The U.S. Marshals sponsored Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force includes law
enforcement officers from the New Orleans Police Department, Orleans Parish
Criminal Sheriff’s Office, St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana
Probation and Parole, St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Coast Guard,
U.S. Border Patrol, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, Bogalusa Police
Department, Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Social
Security Office of the Inspector General. Other area law enforcement
agencies also assist CSFTF in fugitive investigations on a case by case
basis. |
