PENSACOLA, FL - For the second time in three months, The U.S.
Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force of Pensacola
arrested fugitive James Paul “P.J.” Peloquin. The Marshals Task
Force originally arrested Peloquin in December of last year in the
Floridatown area of Santa Rosa County on an Okaloosa County warrant
for Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer and Fleeing and Eluding.
Although it was a no bond warrant, he was released anyway. It is
unclear as to why he was let go.
Peloquin, 21, who is now wanted in
Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties, was arrested without
incident at a home on the 2500 block of Eclipse Lane at about 9:45
this morning. Peloquin’s new warrants include charges of Failure to
Appear for Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Fleeing and Eluding
a Law Enforcement Officer, Violation of Probation for Possession of
Dangerous Drugs and Driving While License Suspended. He is also
suspected of participating in a burglary of a home in Pace a couple
of weeks ago, in which a .357 Magnum handgun and an assault rifle
were stolen. Fingerprints were taken from the scene and are being
processed by FDLE.
Peloquin, originally from Destin, led the Task Force on a search
bouncing between Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties while hiding in
Pensacola and other places in Floridatown, Milton and the Pea Ridge
areas of Santa Rosa. After a week of surveillance and an intense
investigation, Task Force members from Okaloosa and Escambia
Counties and agents from FDLE caught a break and found out about him
hiding back in Pensacola. The Task Force requested help from
Escambia’s K9 and patrol units when they apprehended him. Peloquin
will be held at the Escambia County Jail on the local warrants
first.
