U.S. Marshals' 'SOFAST' Team Moved Quickly to Take Alleged Rapist Off The Streets

Cincinnati, OH - Frederick Middlebrooks Jr. was arrested this morning in Cincinnati by the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST). SOFAST is a team of law enforcement officers led by the United States Marshals Service. Middlebrooks was arrested at 4095 Victory Parkway in Cincinnati, Ohio, without incident.

An arrest warrant for Middlebrooks was issued in Columbus, Ohio on February 3, 2008 for rape of a child under 13. Middlebrooks was also charged on that same date with gross sexual imposition. According to investigators, the offenses took place in January. Middlebrooks will be returned to Columbus to answer to all charges.

“SOFAST made it a top priority to take this alleged sex offender off the streets because of the danger to other victims,” said U.S. Marshal Jim Wahlrab.

SOFAST is team comprised of law enforcement officers from federal, state, and local agencies. The task force objective is to seek out and arrest dangerous fugitives. Last year, U.S. Marshals task forces arrested more than 27,000 state and local fugitives on felony charges.
