DFW FAST Arrests Mesquite Bank Robber
 
Dallas Fort Worth Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team LogoDallas, TX - On December 14, 2007 detectives with the Mesquite Police Department contacted the United States Marshals Service Dallas Fort Worth Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (DFW FAST) and requested assistance locating and arresting James Thetford. According to detectives, on December 13, 2007 Thetford entered and robbed a Wells Fargo Bank in Mesquite. Thetford stole approximately $1100.00 before he fled from the bank. Mesquite detectives were able to identify Thetford from surveillance video and other physical evidence from the robbery.

On December 14, 2007 DFW FAST developed information that Thetford was hiding out in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas. Thetford was arrested after a traffic stop was initiated by DFW FAST near the 300 block of E. Ledbetter

Thetford has spent to total of 28 years of his life in prison and was released on parole two years ago after receiving six life sentences for numerous forgery charges.
