U.S. Marshals and Atlanta Police Officers Capture Atlanta’s Most Wanted

SERFTF LogoAtlanta, GA - At approximately 11:00am on March 29, 2007, Robert Bernard Bush, 24, was captured by members of the U.S. Marshal’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Atlanta Police Department. Bush was wanted by the Atlanta Police Department and Dekalb County for Trafficking Cocaine, Possession With Intent To Distribute Marijuana, Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of A Crime, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer.

The majority of charges stem from the attempted arrest of Bush after police observed a suspected drug deal. When approached Bush fled on foot and was able to elude police. A stolen firearm, marijuana and cocaine were recovered from the scene.

Based on both Bush’s current charges and his status as a career criminal, the Atlanta Police Department placed Bush on their Top Ten Most Wanted List.

This morning investigators developed information that Bush could be located at an address of Moury Avenue in Atlanta, GA. Surveillance was immediately established and after a short time Bush was seen exiting the target apartment. As officers attempted to arrest him, he fled on foot. After an exhaustive chase by SERFTF investigators, Atlanta Police Officers and the Atlanta Police Air Unit; Bush was captured.

This is the third time that Bush has attempted to elude police on foot and concludes an extensive year long hunt for him by members of the SERFTF and the Atlanta Police Department.

The Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) is a team comprised of law enforcement officers from the United States Marshal, as well as, 27 other local, state and federal agencies. The task force’s objective is to seek out and arrest the regions most violent offenders. Since the inception of the task force in September of 2003, the SERFTF has closed over 10,000 felony warrants.
