Bridget Conley-Zilkic is Project Director for the Museum’s Committee on Conscience, where she has worked since 2001. She curates Museum exhibits on issues related to contemporary genocide, produces the COC’s educational films, and conducts teacher training sessions introducing educators to issues surrounding genocide prevention today. Among her published essays are “Easier Said Than Done: The Challenges of Preventing and Responding to Genocide” with Samuel Totten in Century of Genocide (London: Routledge, forthcoming 2008) “‘Parler clairement’: Tchétchénie : pour défendre autrement les droits humains,” (tr. Michel Feher), in Politique Non Gouvernementale, Vacarme (no 34, Winter 2006); “Hope Dies Last: On Women Suicide Bombers and Human Rights Abuses in Chechnya,” (Journal of Human Rights, vol. 3:3, 2004); and "What Barbed Wire Can't Enclose" (Alphabet City 7: Social Insecurity (Toronto), Sept. 2000). She received a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Binghamton University in 2001, writing about cultural responses to humanitarian interventions in Bosnia and Haiti.
