On December 2, 2003, Congresswoman Pelosi participated in a celebratory send off for the 1895 West Coast schooner, C.A. Thayer. The vessel will undergo a $9.6 million restoration.

This year Rep. Pelosi obtained 4.2 million in funding for this project in this year's Interior spending bill.
